The Country Girl (1954)

Frank Elgin (Bing Crosby) is an alcoholic actor and singer who gets a second change at stardom. He is desperate to make a comeback and Bernie Dodd (William Holden) is the hotshot Broadway director in need of a "name" star for his new stage production. Grace Kelly plays Frank’s long-suffering wife. Adapted from a play by Clifford Odets and directed by George Seaton.

Manchester by the Sea (2016)

A solitary Boston janitor (Casey Affleck) is forced to return to his hometown and come to terms with his past, after he has unexpectedly become his 16-year-old nephew’s sole guardian. Although initially reluctant to take on this role, uncle and nephew finally embark on a journey of love, sacrifice, and hope. This multi award-winning film was written and directed by Kenneth Lonergan.
