All the other penguins know that Archie is fearless. He has climbed to the summit of Nosebleed Mountain among other exploits. But he's hiding a secret; he's afraid to swim and doesn't know how he'll get to Iceberg Nine for the fish fry. After various attempts to fly there, Archie learns to overcome his fear of the ocean and the creatures that live there. Rash's hilarious illustrations with sound bubbles will have you clapping for Archie along with his penguin friends!
Let the instructors from the Music Institute of Chicago demonstrate instruments for you and then let you try them out. There will be strings, percussion, guitar/bass, keyboard, and wind instruments. From 2:30 - 3:00 p.m. there will also be a Musikgarten class ideal for children birth through age three. No tickets are required for this free drop-in event!
Reading Level: ages 10 - 14
In this novel in verse, Kevin, who feel he's "king of seventh grade" enjoys being a bully at school. Home is a different matter. His physician parents are too busy to pay attention to their five sons. Kevin is himself bullied by his next oldest brother. When one of the school victims finds a notebook of poetry that Kevin has written, he uses the discovery to humiliate and bully Kevin in turn.
