Drop off your independent preschoolers or kindergartners for a special storytime! Let them enjoy great stories, puppets, flannel boards, music, and activities that foster pre-reading skills, broaden social skills, and encourage a love of books.

Creative Writing

This group is for all writers from beginners to experienced. Perfect for the writer seeking stimulating creative sparks, regular writing deadlines and the support and feedback from a writing group environment. Jennifer Dotson facilitates the group, providing optional writing prompts each session as well as thoughtful responses to guide works-in-progress. Creative Writing Group meets twice a month on alternating Thursdays to allow participants adequate time to bring new or revised material. This is your chance to write or polish that poem, play, short story, memoir or novel. Cost is $60. Full payment by cash or check is required at least three days prior to the first class or registration will be cancelled. No refunds will be given for cancellations or no-shows. Learn how to set up your iPad and use email and the Internet. Among learning the basics, you will also learn how to use apps, manage calendars, and navigate contacts. Bring your iPad to class and have an Apple ID created in advance! Cost is $20. Fall Baby Booktime

Newborns to walkers with parent or caregiver.
Introduce your baby to the sounds and rhythms of language using stories, music, and rhymes. Delight and stimulate your baby's senses and build a foundation for a lifelong love of books and reading. Each class will end with 1/2 hour of play featuring age-appropriate toys and time for socialization.

In the face of increased public discussion , this documentary looks at how bullying affects today’s kids. This version focuses on Alex, a 12-year-old Iowan with social difficulties who becomes awkward around other kids. Bilingual Counselor, Florencia Avalos-Delcid, MSW, of Family Service will be available to facilitate a discussion after the film. Family Service is a community organization committed to providing needed services and counseling.

Rosemary (Mia Farrow) and her struggling actor husband, Guy (John Cassavettes), move into a new apartment in New York, where they are surrounded by odd neighbors and events. Guy’s career begins to pick up and soon after Rosemary becomes pregnant, which happens to follow a disturbing dream. Confused and fearful, Rosemary begins to suspect that a friendly neighborly couple may have special plans for her unborn baby. Roman Polanski directed this film.
