Spanish Literary Club

Attendees will take part in lively discussions on Spanish Literature, focusing on the works of notable authors. Conversations will be mostly in Spanish, but non-native speakers are welcome. This event will be held in the MediaScape Room. The first title that will be discussed is
"Crónica de una muerte anunciada” by Gabriel García Márquez.

Intro to Word

Wednesday, September 10, 2014 - 6:30pm to 8:30pm

You will gain a working knowledge of how to create, change, cut, customize, save and print many types of documents. Learn how to work the new toolbars that offer powerful Word capabilities by selecting from galleries of predefined styles, table formats, list formats, graphical effects, and more. Cost of text is not included in fee. To save your work, you will need to bring to class a USB Flash Drive 1GB minimum. Cost is $50. Full payment by cash or check is required at least three days prior to the first class or registration will be cancelled. No refunds will be given for cancellations or no-shows. Matzo Balls, Chopped Liver and the Midwest

Highland Park Historical Society presents a lecture by Ellen Steinberg, PhD, author of "From the Jewish Heartland: Two Centuries of Midwest Foodways." Steinberg explores the evolution of Midwestern Jewish cuisine. Books will be for sale and the event will conclude with a book signing.

Summer Baby Booktime

Newborns to walkers with parent or caregiver.
Introduce your baby to the sounds and rhythms of language using stories, music, and rhymes. Delight and stimulate your baby's senses and build a foundation for a lifelong love of books and reading. Each class will end with 1/2 hour of play featuring age-appropriate toys and time for socialization.
