Fall First Steps

For walking toddlers to 2 year olds with parent or caregiver.
Enjoy an interactive storytime with picture books, songs, fingerplays, puppets, and parachute play. Nurture your toddler's love of books and encourage him or her to learn numbers, colors, sounds, and new words. Each class will end with 1/2 hour of play and time to meet other parents, caregivers, and toddlers.

Spanish Literary Club

Panel discussion and lecture on the architecture of Robert Seyfarth. Moderated by Susan Benjamin, architectural historian. Panelists include Mary Seyfarth, granddaughter of Robert Seyfarth, David Van Zanten, Professor of Art, Northwestern University, Ken Jellema, former Historic Preservation Chair for Blue Island, Illinois, and Joel Reinstein, local homeowner of a Seyfarth-designed home.

Drop off your independent preschoolers or kindergartners for a special storytime! Let them enjoy great stories, puppets, flannel boards, music, and activities that foster pre-reading skills, broaden social skills, and encourage a love of books.

Beginning Spanish

Monday, October 20, 2014 - 7:00pm to 8:30pm

The goal of this course is to enable you to acquire a basic mastery of listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. The course will emphasize the practice of grammar and communication skills. Cost is $80. Full payment by cash or check is required at least three days prior to the first class or registration will be cancelled. No refunds will be given for cancellations or no-shows. If you are a non-library cardholder, please register in-person in the administration office or by phone (847-432-0216 ext 119).
