House on Telegraph Hill (1951)
Victoria Kowelska has lived through World War II bombings and relocation camps, finally emigrating to San Francisco Bay under a stolen identity. Posing as another woman, she meets her “son” who has recently received a sizeable inheritance from his late great-aunt. Along with the boy’s caretaker, whom she soon finds herself falling in love with, they move into the mansion on Telegraph Hill. Unfortunately, she is unaware of the dangers that await.
