FOR GRADES K - 5

JUNE 9 - AUGUST 2, 2008

How to Play...

Students entering kindergarten through fifth grade in the fall are eligible to participate.

Beginning Monday, June 9, you may come to the Youth Services Department with the first library book you have read. (If it is your first summer visit, stop at the Youth Services Desk and pick up a reading log.) Write the titles and authors of the books you have completed in your reading log. Each time you visit you can tell us about one book and we will stamp its title on your reading log.

Bring the Highland Park Public Library book you choose to tell us about.  (We want to hear how you like the books in our collection.)  Then you can try your luck at the Reading Safari Game Board and collect tokens which you can redeem for souvenirs.  You may tell us about one book a day and play on our Reading Safari Game Board once a day, but feel free to read as many books as you want between visits.

Check out the Virtual Prize Gallery!

Please Remember...

It's up to you to decide how many books you read between visits to the Library, but you must read at least one library book to play on the Reading Safari Game Board.

All books must be checked out from the Highland Park Public Library.  Recordings, videos, DVDs, magazines, pamphlets, computer programs and audiobook read-alongs do not count as part of the reading program.
