Individual Computer Instruction

Effective February 1, 2006:
Classes for Highland Park residents will be free; please present proof of residency or library card.
Non-resident fee is $20.00 per class.

Learn to use the Library’s electronic resources at your own pace and comfort level.  Make an appointment for a half-hour session with a Reference Librarian today. 

These classes build on skills learned in previous sessions and are therefore meant to be completed in successive order. Please begin with the Basic Mouse Skills class if you have never used a computer before or are not comfortable using the mouse.

  3. PC 2: File Management

Encounter the Internet:

  1. Internet 1: Introduction
  2. Internet 2: Navigation
  3. Internet 3: Searching
  4. Opening E-mail (Hotmail or Yahoo)
  5. Using E-mail (Hotmail or Yahoo)

Experience the Library Online:

  1. Library Online Catalog
  2. Health Databases
  3. Business Databases
  4. News Databases
  5. Other Databases (you choose!)
