Instrument Petting Zoo

Saturday, June 6, 2015 - 2:00pm to 3:30pm

Let the instructors from the Music Institute of Chicago demonstrate instruments for you and then let you try them out. There will be strings, percussion, guitar/bass, keyboard, and wind instruments. From 2:30 - 3:00 p.m. there will also be a Musikgarten class ideal for children birth through age three. No tickets are required for this free drop-in event.

In partnership with the Highland Park Historical Society and the "Save the Stupey Cabin" Picnic, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., Stupey Cabin lawn.

More than 40 demonstrations and presentations by local experts including how to make a Father's Day card, how to leverage LinkedIn, how to organize your kitchen, how to brew beer, how to navigate financial aid and more! Registration is not required.

Spring Baby Booktime

Friday, June 12, 2015 - 10:30am to 11:30am

Newborns to walkers with parent or caregiver.
Introduce your baby to the sounds and rhythms of language using stories, music, and rhymes. Delight and stimulate your baby's senses and build a foundation for a lifelong love of books and reading. Each class will end with 1/2 hour of play featuring age-appropriate toys and time for socialization.

A Forever Home-Pet Adoption Mornings

Drawdio is a simple electronic sound synthesizer built onto a pencil! Essentially, it’s a very simple musical synthesizer that uses the conductive properties of pencil graphite to create different sounds. The result is an awesome piece of technology that lets you draw musical instruments on any piece of paper.
