HPPL Young Hackers Collective

Looking for a fun way to learn about 3D printing, computer programming, robotics, creating mobile apps, gaming, and more? HPPL Young Hackers Collective is a program designed to encourage curiosity and enthusiasm for STEAM learning. Students in grades 5-8 are invited to explore the limits of what is possible.

Drop off your independent preschoolers or kindergartners for a special storytime! Let them enjoy great stories, puppets, flannel boards, music, and activities that foster pre-reading skills, broaden social skills, and encourage a love of books.

Meet up at Panera in Highland Park (1853 N. 2nd St.) for a special story time, milk and cookies. Children ages 2-5, parents and caregivers are invited the 4th Tuesday of the month. Registration for children is required.

3D Printing Partners!

Wednesday, July 29, 2015 - 11:00am to 12:00pm

Kids bring your own adult! Mother, Father, Grandparent, Caregiver, or whoever! Together in teams of two we will discover the basics of 3 dimensional Computer Aided Design (CAD). The library's 3D printer will be on hand as we learn how to model our very own objects and make them come to life!

Experience the music, dance, and stories of West Africa. See the authentic attire, listen to the native instruments, and marvel at one of the most athletic, high-energy dancers you will ever see.
Registered program - No residency requirement
Children under age 8 must be accompanied by a REGISTERED ADULT
