Like Water for Chocolate (1992) is based on the best-selling novel by Laura Esquivel. This romantic fable from Mexico centers on a young couple whose love is forbidden by an ancient family tradition. To be near Tita, Pedro marries her sister. And Tita becomes the family cook, expressing her passion through delectable dishes. Directed by Alfonso Arau. (In Spanish with English subtitles).
