YIVO - Duo Cotroverso Concert

A musical journey from Eastern European shtetls to the Jewish-American wedding scene. The program includes liturgical music, celebratory dances and instrumental versions of traditional folk songs. Perfrmed by Kurt Bjorling, clarinet and basset horn, and Annette Bjorling, harpist. A Chicago YIVO Society Summer Festival of Yiddish Culture event.

Outdoor performance by The Muse of Fire Theater Company, performed in the park between the library and city hall. Adapted from four of Shakespeare's history plays, the story follows the rise and fall of Britain's Tudor kings, as seen through the eyes of the queen who lived through it all. A world premiere. In case of rain, the performance will take place in the auditorium. Registration not required.
