Highland Park Public Library will be hosting two (2) programs during Money Smart Week® April 18-25, 2015 to help consumers learn to manage money wisely. These events are some of the more than 3,500 free classes, seminars and activities promoting financial education that will take place during that week nationwide.
Due to appropriation cuts, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the Illinois Department of Revenue have announced that each is limiting the tax forms that libraries will receive.
The Library has received IRS and Illinois tax forms. We have the following forms- IRS 1040, 1040A and 1040EZ forms, a reference copy of IRS Publication 17, and Illinois 1040 forms and booklets. These will be the only forms and booklets the Library can order.
NEW! Highland Park Public Library cardholders can enroll in courses ranging from beginning drawing to accounting & finance. Courses are offered once a month, span 6 weeks, and are led by an expert instructor who will be responsive to each student's learning needs. Next session begins January 21. The 'Hour of Code' is a nationwide initiative by Computer Science Education Week and Code.org to introduce millions of students to one hour of computer science and computer programming. President Obama kicked off the 2014 Computer Science Education Week with a new call to motivate students worldwide to try the Hour of Code.
