Join us any time during the session. There will be a chess expert there to help you whether you are a beginner or an advanced player.
Instrument Petting Zoo
Let the instructors from the Music Institute of Chicago demonstrate instruments for you and then try them out. There will be strings, percussion, guitar/bass, keyboard, and wind instruments. From 2:30 - 3:00 p.m. there will also be a Musikgarten class ideal for children birth through age three. No tickets are required for this free drop-in event.

For ages 3 1/2 to 6.
Drop off your independent preschoolers or kindergartners for a special storytime! Let them enjoy great stories, puppets, flannel boards, music, and activities that foster pre-reading skills, broaden social skills, and encourage a love of books.
Students within District 112 form teams and match wits based on their knowledge of assigned books.

This seminar provides an overview of franchising, and helps participants make informed decisions. It helps answer the questions of which type of franchises might be right for you and are you right for franchising?
Bob was a multi-unit 7-Eleven franchisee for 40 years. He has also served for many years on the board of the owner’s association and participated in many franchise advocate meetings locally and nationally. Prior to franchising, he worked as a franchisee consultant for 7-Eleven.
SCORE - Counselors to America's Small Business - is a nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of small business in the US.
The workshop is presented by SCORE Chicago, City of Highland Park's Office of Economic Development, Highland Park Chamber of Commerce, and the Library.

Storytime, Milk and Cookies at Panera
Meet up at Panera in Highland Park (1853 N. 2nd St.) for a special story time, milk and cookies. Children ages 2-5, parents and caregivers are invited the 4th Tuesday of the month. Registration for children is required.
