Mark Lieberman is a serial entrepreneur who learned about entrepreneurship first hand by starting 4 different small businesses during his career.  Like many, he worked in corporate America long enough to know it wasn't for him so he gave starting a business a try. His first company was a combination software and services business he and a partner started from scratch and built into a company with almost $20 million annual sales. The second was a consulting business that he dissolved. The third was an e-book reader company that built a working prototype 7 years before Kindle. With another $500 million, he'd have been a success. The fourth was a telecommunications company which went from zero to $8 million in 4 years before being sold. He'll share the lessons he has learned during that time, why he believes small business is the right answer for so many folks, and how SCORE can help make that answer concrete.  Mr. Lieberman  graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and has a Masters  degree from North western's Kellogg School of Management. He has published a number of articles on production and inventory control, a field he learned well during his first business.

SCORE - Counselors to America's Small Business - is a nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of small business in the US.

The workshop is presented by SCORE Chicago, City of Highland Park's Office of Economic Development, Highland Park Chamber of Commerce, and the Library.
