And the winner is

With 20.9% of the vote, A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle won the first annual Favorite Banned/Challenged Book poll.  Published in 1962, winner of the Newbery Medal, Sequoyah Book Award, and Lewis Carroll Shelf Award, this favorite of readers of all ages has never been out of print.

It is frequently challenged for undermining religious beliefs and allegations that it promotes witchcraft.  Thanks to everyone who voted!  Here is a rundown of the results.
