Summer Tales for Tots

For ages 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 with parent or caregiver. Location: Meeting Room.
Give your preschooler a head start with this program packed with great stories, puppets, flannel boards, music, and rhymes.  Share this storytime together and build language and listening skills. This class is part of the Summer session (June - July).  Registration required. Highland Park Public Library cardholders only.  Registration begins on May 20.  Register in person at the Youth Services desk or by phone at 847-681-7030.

For walking toddlers to 2 1/2 year olds with parent or caregiver.  Location: Meeting Room. Enjoy an interactive storytime with picture books, songs, fingerplays, puppets, and parachute play. Nurture your toddler's love of books and encourage him or her to learn numbers, colors, sounds, and new words. Each class will end with 1/2 hour of play and time to meet other parents, caregivers, and toddlers. This class is part of the Spring session (April - June). Registration required. Highland Park Public Library cardholders only. Registration begins March 4.

Floating Ball Science

Stop by the Youth Services Department to create your very own ball flotation device and learn about Bernoulli’s Principle. We'll be experimenting from 3:30pm-5:00pm. 

Spring Storytime Live!

For ages 3 1/2 to 6. Location: Meeting Room. Drop off your independent preschoolers or kindergartners in the Meeting Room for a special storytime! Let them enjoy great stories, puppets, flannel boards, music, and activities that foster pre-reading skills, broaden social skills, and encourage a love of books.  This class is part of the Spring session (March - May). Parents/caregivers are asked to remain in the building during the program.  No registration required.
