Fall Storytime Live!

Thursday, October 6, 2016 -
1:30pm to 2:00pm

For ages 3 1/2 to 6.
Drop off your independent preschoolers or kindergartners for a special storytime! Let them enjoy great stories, puppets, flannel boards, music, and activities that foster pre-reading skills, broaden social skills, and encourage a love of books.

Fall First Steps

Friday, October 7, 2016 -
9:15am to 10:00am

For walking toddlers to 2 1/2 year olds with parent or caregiver.
Enjoy an interactive storytime with picture books, songs, fingerplays, puppets, and parachute play. Nurture your toddler's love of books and encourage him or her to learn numbers, colors, sounds, and new words. Each class will end with 1/2 hour of play and time to meet other parents, caregivers, and toddlers.

Stop by the Digital Media Lab and learn to make a very short musical composition using GarageBand's sound library. No registration or musical abilities required. For Grades K - 8.

Basic Compass Skills

10:00am to 10:45am

Discover the lost art of using a compass! Participants will learn why compass skills are important, even in this age of GPS technology, and how to use a basic compass to navigate. This class is filled with demonstrations, hands-on practice, and helpful tips and tricks for successful navigation. Compasses will be available during the class. For ages 7 and older.

Learn Stop Motion

Monday, October 10, 2016 -
2:30pm to 4:30pm

Drop by the Digital Media Lab with a cut out drawing, toy, or other small object or objects and learn to make a short stop motion animated movie on the Sprout. For grades K - 8.
