- Sessions are 30 to 60 minutes.
- Up to one appointment per week.
- Booking opens 7 days in advance.
- Available to Highland Park Public Library adult cardholders.
What are common topics?
- Downloading and using digital library items (eBooks, eAudiobooks, and eMagazines).
- Using the library catalog.
- Email, browsing, and computer basics.
- Organizing files and using cloud storage.
- Photo, slide, and video digitization.
Is there help the library does not provide?
- Medical, legal, financial, or business advice.
- Personal transactions such as applications, contracts, purchases, or travel bookings.
- Entering personal or sensitive information on your behalf.
- Setting up or installing software on personal devices.
What can staff do instead?
- Show you how to find reputable information sources.
- Explain general steps and tools.
- Guide you while you complete tasks on your own device.
How can I schedule an appointment?
- Fill out the online form.
- Share details about what you want to learn.
- A staff member contacts you to set the session within 3 business days (Monday-Friday).
What if I need to cancel?
- Please call or email the Computers & Technolody desk at (847) 579-6836 or newmeddept@hplibrary.org to cancel or reschedule.
